  Connecting your email subscribe form

The Melbourne theme allows you to connect a popup form to any service that allows you to create a signup page. This includes MailChimp, Campaign Monitor and Mad Mimi.

For any of the services, you just paste the page URL into the "Popup URL" field in your Theme editor.

URL's are entered in the "Store footer" section of your Theme editor. To get to your Theme editor, go to the "Design & Assets -> Theme editor" section of your store's Toolbox.

To add the popup subscribe form to your store, open the "Store footer" section of your theme editor, scroll down to the "Newsletter subscribe popup" section, tick the "Popup Enabled?" box, paste the URL into the "Popup URL" box, and click the "Save settings" button.

Detailed instructions for setting up MailChimp are below. As every service has a different process for creating a signup page, you should be able to extrapolate what you need to do from the instructions provided.

MailChimp

To use MailChimp, log in to your MailChimp account. If you haven't already created a list there to add subscribers to, create one and then follow the instructions below;

1. Click on "Lists" on the right.
   
2. Select the list you want to use by clicking on it's name.
   
3. At the top of the screen, click on the "Signup forms" link.
   
4. Choose "general forms".
   
5. Create your form.
   
6. Copy the "Signup form URL".
   
7. Paste the URL into your browser. It should redirect to the page where you can see your signup form.
   
8. Copy the URL of this page from the address bar of your browser, removing the "http:" part, so your Popup URL should start with just "//", so it should look like this

9. Back in your theme editor, paste the URL of the page into the "Popup URL" box.
   
10. Tick the "Popup Enabled?" box.
    
11. Click the "Save settings" button and test your popup in your storefront.
    
12. If you'd like to, you can also modify the design of your form in MailChimp by adding your logo and changing the colours to make it match your site.
