Spiffy Stores gives you a free xxx.spiffystores.com style domain for your store. For some customers this is enough, but many customers want the extra aesthetics and recognition value that come from a real www.mystore.com style address.

There are two ways that you can use your own domain name in your Spiffy Store. The first is by using a DNS entry called a CNAME record, and the second is by re-delegating to the Spiffy Stores name servers.

Using a CNAME Record

You will need to find out from your domain registrar how you can add DNS entries to your domain. Unfortunately the process to set this up is somewhat difficult because many domain registrars don't offer support for such setups.

Your CNAME record should point to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

It should look someting like this...

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

When you have set up your CNAME record, simplay add the domain record you have created to the DNS & Domains section of your store toolbox.

Re-delegating to the Spiffy Store Name Servers

Re-delegating to the Spiffy Stores Servers also gives you the advantage of being able to use your 1 free email address on your domain. To re-delegate to the Spiffy Stores Name Servers, log in to the domain management area at your domain registrar and set your name servers to the following;

Nameserver 1: ns1.spiffystores.com (xxx.xxx.xx.xxx)

Nameserver 2: ns2.spiffystores.com (xxx.xxx.xx.xxx)

Your Primary Domain

When you have more than one domain for your store, you can specify one of them to be your primary domain. This distinction is used in various ways within your Spiffy Store. For instance, customers are redirected to your primary domain after they have completed a checkout.
